1984 Book Cover

Objective

To reinterpret George Orwell’s 1984 through a bold book cover design that visually communicates themes of surveillance, control, and propaganda.

Process
This is some text inside oI began by analyzing the core themes of 1984, focusing on surveillance, authority, and the loss of individuality. To visually express constant observation, I used strong geometric shapes and repetitive patterns inspired by propaganda imagery. Bold, condensed typography was chosen to create a sense of pressure and control, reinforcing the idea of an oppressive system. High-contrast colors such as red, yellow, and teal were used to evoke urgency, warning, and psychological tension. The layout emphasizes hierarchy and repetition, guiding the viewer’s eye while reflecting the controlled and monitored world described in the novel.f a div block.
